Aerial Sports

Ready to defy gravity?

We’re excited to announce that we will soon offer a brand-new Aerial Sports subsection within the Tanzen Section at Sportclub PSI! Whether you're a total beginner or already flying high, our upcoming classes and open sessions will help you build strength, flexibility, and confidence — all while suspended in the air.

What are Aerial Sports?

Aerial Sports involve performing acrobatic movements while suspended in the air, using various apparatuses like poles, hoops, silks, and hammocks. These disciplines combine strength, flexibility, coordination, and creativity, offering a full-body workout that is both artistic and athletic. Whether you're spinning on a pole, soaring through the air on a hoop, or climbing silks, aerial sports are a fun and challenging way to build your fitness and explore new movement possibilities.

Our offer

Join our classes for:

POLE SPORT (Beginner and Intermediate)

Pole Sport is a dynamic mix of dance, acrobatics, and strength training using a vertical pole. It helps build up your core and upper body strength, while also improving flexibility, balance and body awareness. Our beginner and intermediate classes will guide you through foundational techniques and combos in a supportive environment.

💵Price: 10 CHF per class

AERIAL HOOP (Beginner)

Aerial Hoop is a steel ring suspended in the air where you perform poses, spins, and sequences. It builds core strength, flexibility, and body control, all while making you feel like you’re flying! Our beginner classes cover safe mounting, movement basics, and flowing transitions.

💵Price: 10 CHF per class

STRETCHING AND FLEXIBILITY

Our stretching sessions focus on improving mobility and flexibility, and are a great complement to your pole or aerial training — or just a relaxing way to move your body. Whether you're working on your splits or just want to unwind your body, these classes are for everyone!

💵Price: 5 CHF per class

FREE TRAININGS

If you already have experience with pole or hoop and know how to use the equipment safely, we offer the possibility to book free training slots so you can practice independently and keep progressing at your own pace.

Price information: First trial lesson is free of charge! Afterwards, 10 CHF for pole and hoop and 5 CHF for stretching, to be given directly to the teacher afterwards.

Rules of use

For your own safety and to elongate the lifetime of the equipment, please:

  • Do not use the poles or hoops if you haven't received a personal safety training for it (contact Mariona  to request a training).
  • No jewelry or watches allowed - they can scratch the equipment and damage it.
  • No outdoors clothes allowed (shoes, belts, jeans...).
  • Always clean the equipment after use, do it thoroughly if you have used grip aids.
  • Don't attempt new tricks without someone else spotting you - specially inverted tricks.
  • Avoid using oils or lotions before a training.

For instructions on how to use the PoleAway system, please read carefully: Instructions_PoleAway.pdf

New here?

If you are a new member, curious, or have never tried our sport, you may have some questions...

Can I join spontaneously? 🤔

All PSI Sportclub members can get a free trial lesson in the discipline they prefer! Feel free to join spontaneously for the stretching classes, but please notify us in advance if you plan to come to pole or hoop classes (since we need to make sure there's enough room for everyone).

What should I wear? 🎽

For pole, a T-Shirt and shorts are good enough; for hoop, leggings are also okay! The more you will advance on the sport, the more grip points you will need, so sports bra and sport panties will eventually become a better option. See why pole dancers aren't fully clothed here!

Which extra equipment do I need to bring? 🧴

'Don't panic and always carry a towel' (and a bottle of water!), the rest we can provide. We have common-use yoga mats, blocks and pillows (for the warm-ups), magnesium grip, and fabric cloths to clean the poles afterwards. But feel free to bring your own material :)

What language are the classes taught in? 🗣

Classes will be taught in English! We can also speak Italian and French but we are still working on our Deutsch...
